Therapeutic Massage
Relax, relieve stress, anxiety, muscle pain and soreness through a variety of modalities which may include Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, and Massage Cupping. Each session starts with a consultation to discuss your goals to customize your treatment. Massage Cupping and/or Reiki may be added to any session at no additional charge.
Swedish Massage
Are you looking for a natural way to decompress, wind down, and de- stress? Maybe you’ve never had a massage, or you have no specific issues, but you’d like to make massage therapy part of your self-care routine. Swedish massage is a great place to start. Long, smooth gliding strokes – typical of Swedish massage – are used to increase blood flow, soothe tense muscles, and relieve stress. The experience can be both, relaxing and energizing. Communication is encouraged before and during your session so that your massage is tailored to your specific needs.
Deep Tissue
Although some of the strokes may feel similar to those used in Swedish massage, the goals and techniques of deep tissue massage are different. Deep tissue massage is more than just a massage with deep pressure. Its purpose is to focus on specific areas of discomfort, and to reach deeper layers of muscle. Slow, deliberate strokes using the forearm, elbow and knuckles, and techniques including trigger point therapy are often used. Pressure is always based on your comfort and therapeutic benefits. Massage doesn’t have to hurt or make your body sore to be effective.
Massage Cupping
Soft silicone cups are placed over tense muscles to create a negative pressure that lifts and separates the tissues. This increases the circulation to the area, which helps to quickly release muscular tension and knots. Cupping may be added to any massage session at no additional charge.
Reiki
The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese and means “universal life force”. A gentle hands-on healing art to promote the harmonizing of body, mind, and spirit, while the client remains fully-clothed on the massage table. Deep relaxation, stress relief, and a sense of peace may be felt during the session.
